I usually visit a place a few times before reviewing, which we did. I gotta say the bartender Deville is super friendly, and always makes the best drinks!! We just moved to area and tried several other places, not bad, but The Getaway is our new “corner bar” for drinks and great music. It’s a hidden gem of Akron Valley and made us feel at home. 2 pool tables, local bar atmosphere which was welcoming to us, and great drinks!!! Haven’t tried the food, but a decent sized menu, and other people rave about it! We will def be back, again and again! 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
My sister and I are in Akron helping out an ill relative and discovered the Getaway.Fabulous burger ( and onion rings) , a tasty chicken wrap, excellent service, friendly staff and patrons, and a reasonable check. Most likely it is a bit too lively ( and noisy) at night for our tastes, but for lunch, it was just right. Made our week-- actually two weeks.
Price were good. Friendly people. Nice atmosphere. Band, The Pace, was excellent.
Love the karaoke stage here. It's fun it's festive and awesome night spot where every walk of life is welcome can even smoke weed outside and nothing is said

I am the traveler. Hanging out here at the Getaway. The Beams are playing, Rockin the House. Everyone is super nice, and mature. Even though it is packed. Truly hidden gem for live music. Stop by shake a hand and introduce yourself. Next thing you know your family.
I came in for the first time and was welcomed by 2 beautiful bartenders Barbie & Katie. The food was excellent, service amazing and they made sure I got to my car when I left. The karaoke dj was great! Will definitely return and highly recommend to friends!
MARK is excellent as an Karaoke DJ. I liked that he rotated all my guests who came to celebrate my birthday. It was a last minute idea and the woman who helped reserve my seats was a sweetheart. Whenever I have a critique I seldom mention the name (but you know who you are), because everyone deserves a chance to improve. I did not like the way the bartender belittled women. I heard many complaints. When your busy, all you have to do is look up and acknowledge that you see a person waiting. Once they know you’ll get to them - most people are patient. I also think it helps to introduce yourself to people who are new. It just makes for an overall better environment. Those behind the bar should never be placed in a situation where they feel the need to argue with intoxicated people. The food here is really, really good- especially the wings. I like that this location has a diverse crowd. My thoughts… kindness goes a long way.
